Powers Principal Nick Michiels will present on higher education developments at the Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators (CAPFAA) Annual Conference in Westbrook, Connecticut on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 10:00am. Nick’s presentation, which is titled “Regulatory Ping-Pong: Assessing Biden’s Initiatives and Trump’s Proposals,” will highlight key differences in the approach to postsecondary education regulation and policy between the Biden Administration and incoming Trump Administration. This session will provide participants with insight into what changes to anticipate in the realm of student financial aid, and on what timeline, as President-elect Trump assembles his Cabinet and vision for the U.S. Department of Education. Nick will also discuss the legal tools that the Trump Administration may utilize to revise or reverse Biden Administration regulations.
CAPFAA was established in 1969 to provide support to Financial Aid Administrators from Postsecondary Institutions, members of educational institutions, government agencies, and private and community organizations concerned with managing and distributing student financial aid. CAPFAA assists with the development of student financial aid programs and sponsors educational conferences and training sessions to promote professional development on relevant issues.
