Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville PC (“Powers”) is pleased to announce that Julie Allen has been promoted to Principal, effective July 22, 2020.
Julie joined the firm’s government relations and legislative practice in 2019. As Senior Director of Government Affairs for Powers, she has worked to advance legislative, regulatory and business priorities for her wide range of clients, including national associations, health care providers, specialty pharmacies, medical device and lifesciences companies, patient foundations, and private equity companies. As a non-lawyer Principal, Julie will continue to serve the policy and advocacy needs of her clients and advance the firm’s government relations and legislative practice.
“The fact that Julie was unanimously elected Principal one year after her arrival at Powers demonstrates her value to the firm’s clients and the fast pace at which she has grown her practice,” said Jim Jorling, Managing Principal of the firm. “We look forward to continuing to grow our government relations team and expanding our presence in legislative and regulatory affairs.”
Julie joins Principals Peter Thomas, Bobby Silverstein, and Peggy Tighe in growing the firm’s government relations and legislative practice. Last year, Powers also added Jeremy Scott, Senior Director of Government Affairs, who works with a wide range of health care and public health clients, and Kathleen Hatfield, Counsel to the firm, who focuses on appropriations and counseling clients on grant and contract opportunities from numerous federal agencies. More recently, Powers added Taryn Couture to compliment Joseph Nahra, both Directors of Government Relations at the firm.
