Powers Principal Bobby Silverstein gave a virtual keynote address at the Family Café, an annual event that brings together thousands of individuals with disabilities and their families for three days of information and networking.
In his keynote address, titled “Disability Advocacy: Securing the American Dream for All,” Bobby discusses the how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became a law 30 years ago and how the bill created a positive shift in disability policy core values. He also discusses the policy successes and lessons learned in the 30 years since the bill’s enactment, and how these can guide future advocacy efforts.
