Powers Principal Barbara Straub Williams will be speaking tomorrow about 340B program compliance at the American Health Lawyers Association Fraud and Compliance Forum.
The three-day forum brings together legal counsel, compliance officers, and government representatives and covers topics including Stark, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and enforcement efforts in these areas. Speakers also address emerging regulatory trends, recent case law and legislative developments, and how they will affect legal and compliance practices in health care.
Barbara’s session, titled “340B Program Compliance: Pitfalls, Disclosures, Best Practices and Recent Developments,” will discuss 340B program requirements, common compliance risks and mistakes, and what to do if a compliance issue is discovered.
Additionally, Barbara will discuss best practices for a compliance program and recent developments regarding the 340B program. She will be joined by Cindy K. Bartlett, VP Corporate Responsibility at Bon Secours Health System.
Barbara Straub Williams is a healthcare attorney at Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville. She has 30 years of experience in advising healthcare providers on a wide range of federal and state regulatory programs, with a focus on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues and the federal 340B drug discount program.
Barbara provides guidance to clients on complex regulatory compliance issues and acts as counsel in responding to audits and making disclosures to the HHS Office of Inspector General, the Office of Pharmacy Affairs and other federal and state government entities.
