Powers Principal Peggy Tighe will speak during a 340B Health webinar to discuss the future of healthcare under the Trump administration.
The 60-minute webinar will focus on how the Republican Party could handle the proposed repeal of the Affordable Care Act, also known as “Obamacare,” and the implications of ACA repeal. It also will cover other possible legislative actions for healthcare.
Peggy and other speakers will discuss several 340B-related issues, including how ACA repeal or other policy proposals could impact coverage of low-income populations, Medicaid “block granting” and payment cuts, the future of the 340B program, Medicare reform and bipartisan opportunities to protect uninsured and underinsured populations.
Peggy will be joined by Rodney Whitlock, PhD, former Health Policy Director for Senator Chuck Grassley and Vice President at ML Strategies, LLC, and Ted Slafsky, President and Chief Executive Officer of 340B Health as the moderator.
Peggy has experience working with 340B Health, Ryan White clinics, the American Medical Association and dozens of national coalitions, giving her unique insight into the implications of various potential legislative and administrative changes. She works closely with both the Healthcare and the Government Relations and Public Policy teams at Powers.
Peggy focuses her practice on lobbying, coalition building, crafting and implementing grass roots campaigns, and coordinating media relations. She is well versed on giving congressional and policy updates on subjects such as Affordable Care Act implementation, Medicare provider reimbursement including SGR reform, hospital wage index, nursing payments, Social Security disability, patient safety, medical liability reform, Long Term Acute Care Hospital and clinical laboratory policy, hunger and nutrition, and patient-focused pharmaceutical policy.
