Powers Pyles Sutter and Verville, P.C., a nationally-recognized law firm with healthcare, education, legislative, Indian tribal governments and litigation practices, is pleased to announce the addition of Julie Allen and Jeremy Scott as Senior Directors of Government Affairs.
Allen and Scott both come to Powers with extensive federal legislative and regulatory experience working on behalf of healthcare and other clients. Their addition to Powers adds much talent to Powers’ growing and recognized government affairs team. Allen and Scott’s arrival follows the recent hire of Joseph Nahra, Manager of Government Relations.
Julie Allen has more than two decades of experience developing and advancing health and other policy initiatives on Capitol Hill and in the private sector. She advises a wide-range of clients, including national associations, health care providers, specialty pharmacies, medical device and lifesciences companies, patient foundations, and private equity companies. She helps clients impact national policy and address business concerns. Allen comes to Powers after nine years at the District Policy Group (DPG) within the Government and Regulatory Affairs Practice of Drinker Biddle & Reath, LLP. Prior to DPG, she managed a boutique lobbying and government contracting practice and served as a senior lobbyist and regulatory specialist for national health care associations.
”I am thrilled to join and contribute to a team that understands the best way to successfully make and shape policy and political arguments before Congress and the Administration,” said Allen. “I look forward to working with the Powers’ team to accomplish client legislative and regulatory goals.”
Jeremy Scott has more than twenty years of experience advocating on and off Capitol Hill. He focuses on health care policy and representing the interests of national nonprofit, patient and provider advocacy and healthcare organizations. He supports clients in establishing relationships with elected officials and federal agencies, developing innovative government relations and advocacy programs, and establishing coalitions and third-party stakeholder partnerships.
Scott joins Powers after twelve years at the District Policy Group (DPG) within the Government and Regulatory Affairs Practice of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. Prior to DPG, he directed public policy and managed the Washington, D.C. office for the Tourette Association of America. Prior to that role, Scott worked in the Senate, serving former Senator Mike DeWine (R-OH) where he managed health care issues.
“I am excited to bring my longtime advocacy and policy experience to a growing and dynamic government relations and public policy team,” said Scott. “Powers has a well-deserved reputation for successfully empowering clients to impact health policy, and I look forward to further expanding the team’s unique ability to achieve client goals.”
With Powers, Allen and Scott will continue supporting the legislative and regulatory interests of their clients before Congress and the Executive Branch.
“Julie and Jeremy are welcome additions to the firm’s growing government relations practice,” said Jim Jorling, President of Powers and a Principal in the healthcare practice. “We are looking forward to having their combined experience to enhance and support our firm’s continued efforts to provide great service to our government relations clients.”
