Powers attorneys Megan La Suer, Mark Ogunsusi, Bill von Oehsen, and Barbara Straub Williams, authored a chapter on 340B compliance for the Health Care Compliance Association’s (HCCA) Complete Healthcare Compliance Manual.
The manual, published April 1, provides insight on a wide range of healthcare compliance “risk areas” and provides healthcare compliance officers with guidance and insights on the fundamentals of program management, risk assessment, compliance training, auditing and monitoring, and more. The chapter written by Powers focuses on the 340B drug pricing program and includes a comprehensive discussion of the requirements and compliance issues applicable to the safety net hospitals and clinics participating in the 340B program. The chapter also identifies and provides links to resources available to safety net providers for meeting their 340B program obligations. Program requirements applicable to other 340B stakeholders, including contract pharmacies and manufacturers, are also addressed.
