Powers is pleased to announce that three Powers attorneys were selected to Super Lawyers 2021 and two young attorneys were selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars 2021.
Principals Mark Fitzgerald and Ron Connelly and Counsel Kathleen Hatfield have been selected to Super Lawyers 2021, a list of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Principal Dan Brozovic and Associate Leela Baggett have been selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars, which highlights attorneys who are either 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.
About the Attorneys
Mark Fitzgerald is a Principal in the firm’s healthcare practice. Mark represents integrated healthcare systems, particularly systems that include academic medical centers, on a broad array of healthcare regulatory and compliance matters, including compliance with the Stark and anti-kickback laws, Medicare billing and reimbursement, and self-disclosure matters. This is Mark’s eighth time being selected to Super Lawyers.
Ron Connelly is a Principal in the firm’s healthcare practice. He represents acute care hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, academic medical centers, physicians, and other providers on a variety of healthcare matters, with a particular focus on litigation related to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Ron has been recognized as a Super Lawyer consecutively since 2014, and he was selected as a Rising Star in 2013.
Kathleen Hatfield is Counsel in the firm’s government relations practice. She provides policy guidance, legislative and legal advice for corporations and non-profit organizations, including primarily health facilities and cultural entities. Kathleen has been selected to Super Lawyers consecutively since 2015.
Dan Brozovic is a Principal in the firm’s education practice. Dan advises clients in transactions regulated by the U.S. Department of Education and in regulatory matters and administrative litigation before the Department of Education and. He also counsels educational institutions regarding compliance with federal, state, accrediting agency, and grant funding agency standards. This is his first time being selected to Rising Stars.
Leela Baggett is an Associate in the firm’s healthcare practice. She counsels healthcare providers and practitioners on a wide variety of regulatory, litigation, and legislative matters, including Medicare coverage and reimbursement, coding matters, and state licensure and Medicaid requirements. Leela also counsels Native American tribes and tribal enterprises on transactional and gaming matters. This is her first time being selected to Rising Stars.
