Powers Director of Government Relations Joe Nahra was interviewed recently in an American Council of the Blind (ACB) podcast about low vision devices.
In the episode, Joe discussed legislative action surrounding Medicare Coverage of low vision devices and the work Powers is doing on behalf of the ITEM Coalition, a group of disability organizations, aging organizations, other consumer groups, voluntary health associations, and non-profit provider associations who advocate for increased access to assistive devices, technologies, and related services for people with disabilities and chronic conditions. The podcast also revisited ACB’s Medicare Demonstration of Coverage for Low Vision Devices Act legislative imperative, discussed H.R. 4187, the Medicare Vision Act, and discussed current efforts to add low vision device coverage in the budget reconciliation package.
