Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville’s Indian Tribal Governments Group is pleased to announce that it is working with  Alaska-based Arctic Geopolitical Consulting on priorities and matters of interest to Native and rural communities in the Arctic.

Arctic Geopolitical Consulting, founded by Megan Alvanna Stimpfle, provides strategic guidance and leadership in the development and advancement of public policy. This distinctly Inuit firm focuses on the cultural and economic empowerment of Native communities.

The two firms will remain independent entities, but will work together  on selected client matters to provide solutions that fully take advantage of  Powers’ experience and  Arctic Geopolitical Consulting’s insight to advance priorities of Native communities.

Stimpfle, principal strategist at Arctic Geopolitical Consulting, has served as a legislative assistant for Sen. Lisa Murkowski in Washington, DC, where she was responsible for policies addressing infrastructure and sanitation, housing, health delivery, public safety and justice, land management, as well as fish and wildlife management for Alaska Natives and rural Alaskans.

In addition to serving as the Chief of the King Island Native Community, Stimpfle was involved in establishing the Senate Arctic Caucus, and has assisted in organizing the Arctic Imperative Summits in Girdwood, Alaska, to bring arctic and coastal Alaskan issues to the forefront of American policy.

The Indian Tribal Governments Group practice at Powers has decades of experience representing Indian tribes, tribal corporations, and private sector entities on Capitol Hill, across the agencies of the Federal government, and in commercial transactions. The practice is led by three Principals who have expertise in federal Indian law, congressional advocacy, regulatory policy and rulemaking, and project finance and development on Indian lands.

The Group advises tribal clients on federal legislative and regulatory matters, business planning, corporate structures, energy development and environmental law, state and federal tax and audits, financing and contracting issues, gaming development and regulation, healthcare, housing and community development, human resources, and tribal governance.
