Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville principal Peter Thomas, on behalf of the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities, was quoted in the New York Times article “Governors Get Advice for Saving on Medicaid.” Thomas states, “ ‘Optional services’ is a misnomer. These items and services, which include artificial limbs, wheelchairs and kidney dialysis, are life-saving and life-sustaining. They improve functional abilities and the quality of life for millions of people.”
