On March 22, Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville Principal Peter W. Thomas was invited by the White House to attend the ceremony following the signing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Mr. Thomas represented the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities or CCD in his role as Co-Chair of the Health Task Force, and was honored to be seated in the third row of the 400-person event held at the U.S. Department of the Interior. The event featured speeches by President Obama, Vice President Biden, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, Secretary of the Agriculture Tom Vilsack, and was attended by Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, Attorney General Eric Holder, a host of Members of Congress and Obama Administration officials, and advocates from across the spectrum of health care reform stakeholders.
